Cape Coral

We haven't spent much time sitting in the condo while my sister, Beth has been here visiting! Bill has been taking us to all the best birding sites! Both Beth and I love the Burrowing Owls and Cape Coral is the only place to see them!

After a short stop at the quilt shop, we headed south to find the Owls. We were not disappointed.

The Monk Parakeets also call Cape Coral home. We only saw a couple - and from a distance - but close enough for a positive identification.

Near the Cape Coral RC Flying Field, we went looking for the Florida Scrub Jay. They are listed as "threatened" by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Handsome birds! They cooperated with us by staying close and posing for some great pictures.

This one practically landed at our feet. Beth had to adjust her camera to get a shot.

He continued posing and we continued taking pictures...

and he jumped up on the car!

Scrub Jay? I don't see any Scrub Jay! Where did he go?

He must have flown away!
